This was the first Dodger Cycle since Wes Parker did it over 30 years ago.
Memorial Day Weekend 2009.
The Dodgers always seem to struggle in Interleague Play, particularly with the Angels of Anaheim. With Rivals, Incentive usually determines who will win more then which team is better than the other. Our team beating The GIANTS is very very difficult a lot of times even when we are in first and they are at the bottom of the standings. This Rivalry between The Angels and The Dodgers is pretty much "One sided." They think of our team as rivals, where we don't identify The Halos as rivals. So a lot of times in a Freeway Series, they will be playing with a lot more incentive then we will be, and that gives them the edge, even during years when we are a better team. Mike Scioscia plays against his former team as though The Angels were playing for their second World Series. It must have took a lot out of them. The very next night, when they played the Chicago White Sox in Anaheim, The Angels got clobbered 17 to 3.
